Ringtail Interactive is a small technology startup working in the games industry. The team consists of a diverse group of experienced professionals from all around the world. Our goal is to make it easy to build online games. Pushing the boundaries of what is possible for smaller development teams. After recently launching the first game on our platform we are now in the process of making this platform ready for external partners.

Job Description
At Ringtail Interactive we are looking for a talented technical writer to help create and build out a modern documentation and user assistance infrastructure. You’ll be writing internal, external and promotional material for our game server as a service. The Technical Writer will be part of the engineering team and will be responsible for making complex topics easy to understand and our product easy to learn.
Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive documentation for both external as well as internal consumption

Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content

Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience and ensures understanding

Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications

Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement

Create and maintain the information architecture
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
-
Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation

Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics

Superior English written and verbal communication skills

Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail

Experience with Visio or equivalent tools

Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
Good to have

Previous software development experience

Familiarity with the SDLC and software development

Portfolio of work and/or writing samples
